MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health on Sunday urged patients to disclose their medical conditions and travel history truthfully to avoid placing the lives of health care workers at risk.
“Inaanyahan natin lahat ng mga kababayan natin na please disclose all your information to all our health care workers,” said Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire in a televised briefing.

“Huwag po kayong magtitira ng impormasyon na ililiban ninyo sa ating mga health care workers dahil mataas ang tsansa na sila ay mahahawa kung hindi po kayo magsasabi ng totoo at hindi ninyo ilalahad ang lahat ng impormasyon na kailangan,” she said.

“Ang inyo pong tapat na sagot ay makakapagligtas ng buhay niyo. Bawat kilos ninyo at bawat salita ay maaring makapagligtas ng inyong buhay, ang inyong mga mahal sa buhay at ang mga health care workers natin,” she said.

A doct0r died Saturday after contracting the COVID-19, allegedly from a patient who lied about her travel history.
There were reports that several doctors and staffers of the Philippine Heart Center underwent quarantine after being exposed to a patient who lied about her travel history.
Frontline health care workers are facing a great risk of contracting the viral disease because they are exposed to patients.
As of Sunday, there are 380 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines, including 25 deaths and 17 recoveries.
