Ex-Cafgu nabbed for illegal firearms in Masbate

LEGAZPI CITY — A former member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) of Philippine Army was arrested for illegal firearms in Balud town in Masbate province on Friday night.

Masbate police said at around 10:50 p.m., while authorities were conducting checkpoint and border control along with the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, Rosbert Fuentes, 33, illegally discharged his firearm a hundred meters away from the operating team at Barangay (village) Danao.

Police immediately responded and arrested Fuentes.

Seized from him were an improvised revolver, five live ammunition and empty cartridge of caliber 5.56 and a black holster.
