Majayjay, Pagsanjan towns in Laguna to impose lockdown
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna –– The towns of Majayjay ang Pagsanjan in Laguna province will go on total lockdown amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Separate announcements were made by the municipal governments this week on social media.
Majayjay will impose a total lockdown starting Saturday, March 21 until April 13, said Mayor Carlo Invinzor Clado, which means no one could enter and exit from the town.
Exemptions to the lockdown are those who need to pass through the town for emergency reasons, those who need to buy basic needs outside the town, essential workforce personnel, and those who transport basic goods with proper paperwork and identification.
Clado added that the municipal government would buy rice, pork, and chicken from the locals, and would distribute them to those who are most in need.
In Pagsanjan, Mayor Peter Casius Trinidad declared Thursday night a total lockdown effective immediately, prohibiting anyone from entering and leaving the town, except for health workers and those providing essential services.
