Pangasinan records first COVID-19 case

MANILA, Philippines — The province of Pangasinan has recorded its first case of the 2019 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

As of Friday 2  P.M. one resident has tested positive for the virus while 28 others are under investigation (PUIs), the provincial government said.

The provincial government did not say if the confirmed case is already among the 217 COVID-19 cases recorded in the country.

Meanwhile, 15 of the 28 PUIs are now admitted in hospitals, 12 had been discharged and one has died.

A total of 49,131 residents are also under monitoring, wherein 47,583 are undergoing quarantine while 1,548 have already completed their 14-day isolation.

So far, 17 people who had contracted the disease have died while eight were able to recover.

The entire island of Luzon remains under “enhanced community quarantine” while the whole country has been placed under state of calamity.
