MANILA, Philippines — There are now a total of 31 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019  (COVID-19) in Quezon City, iMayor Joy Belmonte announced Thursday.
Belmonte said the additional two COVID-19 cases were among those announced by the Department of Health (DOH) Wednesday night.

“Ang (The) latest po, 31 cases na po ang Quezon City (Quezon City now has 31 cases). That still comprises 25 percent ng (of) cases ng (in) Metro Manila,” Belmonte said in an interview on dzBB.

“Hindi naman po ito nakakabahala dahil Quezon City does comprise 25 percent of Metro Manila,” she added.

Two barangays in the city, Barangay Kalusugan and Barangay Tandang Sora, were earlier placed under “extreme enhanced community quarantine” and would be under surveillance.

“Problema natin…kalat-kalat po ang kaso sa anim na distritong ito so hindi po masasabing may concentration, hindi rin po masasabing related, iba-iba po ang sources,” Belmonte said.

(Our problem is that the cases are spread out in the six districts of the city, we cannot say that it is concentrated, but we also can’t say that it is related, they have different sources).

The Department of Health has so far reported 202 COVID-19 cases in the country, including 17 deaths.  Seven patients have fully recovered.

15 new COVID-19 cases bring total to 202
