All four coronavirus patients in Manila now getting well – Isko Moreno

MANILA, Philippines — All four residents of Manila who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are now getting well, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced on Tuesday.

In a Facebook live, Moreno said patients number 73 and 75 are admitted to private hospitals in Manila while patients number 67 and 125 in Sta. Ana Hospital also in the city.

Another resident in Manila, patient number 12, died at the Makati Medical Center on Sunday due to the virus.

From March 12 until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, a total of 12 patients under investigation (PUIs) and 364 persons under monitoring (PUMs), including 118 additional PUMs on Tuesday, have been recorded in Manila, based on data from the Manila Emergency Operations Center.

Meanwhile, Moreno also called on the public to observe social distancing in funerals. He said that during an inspection in the streets of Manila Monday night, he saw a funeral where social distancing was not being observed.

“Siguro kung tayo ay nakabati na [sa namatayan], ‘yun lang pagpunta niyo at pagbati, sabay uwi ay tingin ko mauunawaan na ng ating kapitbahay. Limitahan po natin, hindi ‘yung nakikita natin, nagtotong-its, nag-iinuman pa, para bang wala tayong pagpapahalaga sa buhay natin,” he said.

(If we have already expressed our condolences to our neighbors who have lost their loved ones and immediately go home, I think our neighbors will understand that. Let’s not engage in more activities during funerals like card games or drinking sprees as if we don’t value our lives.)
