Bulacan COVID cases rise to 5 after Baliwag mayor gets infected

CITY OF MALOLOS –– Baliwag town Mayor Ferdie Estrella has been stricken with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), raising the number of Bulacan’s infected patients to five as of Tuesday (March 17).

Estrella had displayed symptoms of the disease last week and was just informed that he had tested positive for COVID by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. He is undergoing treatment.

The mayor joins two new COVID patients recorded on Monday (March 16) by the Bulacan Provincial Health Office.

The first new case, dubbed Patient 113, is a 31-year-old female from Malolos, who is confined at the St. Luke’s Medical Hospital in Taguig City.

The other case, identified as Patient 116, is a 70-year-old woman from Guiguinto town, who is being treated in Quezon City.

The first two recorded cases were a 58-year-old female, called Patient No. 21, and a 33-year-old man, dubbed Patient No. 99. They are both from the City of San Jose del Monte and are confined at the Dr. Jose Reyes Rodriguez Hospital in Caloocan City.
