Army survives attack in Camarines Sur shooting

LEGAZPI CITY –– An Army officer survived after two men barged into his house and shot him and his companions in Balatan town, Camarines Sur on Monday night.

Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said in a report that Staff Sergeant Domingo Elcano Jr., 42, a member of the 21st Cavalry Company, 9th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, was having a drink with his friends when Boyet and Fernan, both surnamed Tuyay, fired at them in Barangay Duran around 8:30 p.m.

The two suspects immediately fled aboard a waiting white utility van.
