University of San Carlos’ College of Law puts classes online
CEBU CITY – One of the country’s premier law schools has migrated to online classes amid the threat of the coronavirus or COVID-19.
Lawyer Joan Largo, dean of the University of San Carlos’ College of Law, said they decided to make use of technology while the Cebu City government suspended classes in schools from March 16 to 28.
“In view of the suspension of classes, USC Law will implement the use of alternative modes of delivery of instruction and holding of exams,” she said in a memorandum.
Students, she said, would avail of the following online management systems: a Google Classroom and Google Meet, Microsoft teams of Microsoft Office, and Schoology.
“Online classes will follow the official class schedules unless a different arrangement is made by the teacher concerned. Our midterm examinations may be administered online so long as the integrity of the exam is assured. For exams not conducted online, they are to be scheduled by the teacher concerned on March 30 to April 1,” Largo said.
While classes are suspended, the Deans’ Office and our law library will remain open.
“With facts-based and technology-aided approaches, we are hopeful that USC Law will be able to respond to this pandemic appropriately, and even come out better and stronger in the processes. Continue to boost your immune system. Observe the protocols. Pray,” Largo said.
