LEGAZPI CITY — A husband and wife were shot and killed over the weekend while on a drinking binge with friends at their residence in Balud town in Masbate province, a police report said Monday.
Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the victims Ronald Villaruel, 39 and his wife Gloria, 37, were gunned down by suspect Lindro Relox, 68, a businessman of Barangay (village) Kagmasusu in Mandaon town, at their home of Barangay Tonga at around 9:50 p.m. on Sunday.
Reports said the suspect, who was drunk and armed with a handgun, barged into the victim’s house while the two were having a drinking spree with family.
According to witnesses, the suspect and the male victim had a heated argument when the wife Gloria tried to pacify them. But the suspect suddenly drew his handgun and fired at the couple, killing them instantly.
The suspect fled on board his motorcycle towards Barangay Pinamangcaan, Mandaon town.
Police are hunting down the suspect to arrest him.
