DOJ Usec Villar under self-quarantine
MANILA, Philippines — Justice Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay Villar has been under self-quarantine after her husband Public Works Secretary Mark Villar interacted with a coronavirus-positive individual, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Sunday.
According to Guevarra, Emmeline has been in isolation “since Thursday.”
While the DOJ undersecretary had health concerns beforehand, Guevarra assured that she is “generally okay.”
“She’s just being extra careful,” Guevarra said.
No other Department of Justice personnel and officials have undergone quarantine, he added.
The Public Works chief was among the members of the Cabinet who went into self-quarantine after interacting with a COVID-19 patient in an event in Caloocan last March 5.
