Tourists banned from Batangas town after 3 test positive for COVID-19
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna –– Tourists and tourism activities are temporarily banned in San Juan town in Batangas province after three patients tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the province.
An advisory issued by town mayor Ildebrando Salud Friday night said that all tourists and tourism-related activities are banned from March 14 to April 12, and this may be “extended or lifted earlier upon the recommendation of the Municipal Health Office.”
Unauthorized entries of non-residents are also temporarily prohibited.
San Juan is famous for Laiya beach, a popular summer destination.
Batangas now has three confirmed cases as of Saturday, and Governor Hermilando Mandanas suspended classes in all levels private and public until the end of March./lzb
