Subic hotel submits foreign guest to COVID-19 checking by hospital

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT–A hotel in this free port on Friday (March 13) confirmed that one of its guests has been admitted to a hospital and was listed as a patient under investigation (PUI) for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a statement, LeCharme Suites Subic (LCSS) said the guest is now in Unihealth-Baypointe Hospital and Medical Center here for proper care.

The LCSS statement said precautionary measures were taken “as advised by the Department of Health from the time the guest informed us of his condition.”

According to Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, the patient is a foreign national with a recent travel history to the United Kingdom and is now exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms like fever, cough, colds and diarrhea.

The patient will be transferred to Jose B. Lingad Hospital in Pampanga or any hospital that would be recommended by the Bureau of Quarantine, said the SBMA statement.

The hotel is also arranging an isolation facility for staffers who had come into contact with the guest and would not accommodate new guests to disinfect its facilities.
