Joma: Duterte order to crush Reds bound to fail again
LUCENA CITY –– Exiled rebel leader Jose Maria “Joma” Sison said retorted Wednesday that President Duterte’s renewed order to government forces to crush the communist insurgents before his term ends on 2022 was bound to fail again.
“Duterte has completely failed to accomplish his yearly and constant order to his armed minions destroy the revolutionary movement for national and social liberation,” Sison, Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder, said in a statement sent from his base in Utrecht in The Netherlands.
On Tuesday, President Duterte once more ordered state-security forces to exhaust all means to end the communist insurgency before he steps down from office.
Duterte issued the order during the annual general assembly of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines in Pasay.
Sison charged that the renewed order was the “latest admission of Duterte that he has failed to destroy the revolutionary movement.”
“There can be no end to the new democratic revolution through protracted people’s war in the Philippines so long as the Filipino people are plagued by imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism,” Sison claimed.

“Duterte is serving notice to the people that he does not want a just peace by addressing the roots of the armed conflict through negotiations with the NDFP,” Sison said.
