Bulacan health execs still validating reported COVID-19 case in Sta. Maria
CITY OF MALOLOS –– Health officials in Bulacan province on Tuesday said they had yet to trace the person from Sta. Maria town, who was reported to be among the new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Dr. Joy Gomez, Bulacan public health officer, said her office could not immediately confirm President Duterte’s announcement that Bulacan already recorded its first confirmed case of the virus as of Monday night.
“There is no confirmation yet of whether it is a positive case or just a Person Under Investigation,” Gomez told the Inquirer.
Gomez said they were also validating if the case was a local transmission in Sta. Maria or if the patient is a resident there but contracted the virus somewhere else.
But pending the confirmation, Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando ordered the suspension of classes at all levels in the province on Tuesday as a precaution against the virus.
