Classes in San Juan suspended due to COVID-19 outbreak
MANILA, Philippines — Classes in San Juan City have been suspended on Monday, March 9, over the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
In a tweet on Sunday, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said classes in all levels in public and private schools would be suspended on Monday “to give time to all school officials to sanitize and disinfect their campuses and to put precautionary measures in place to prevent the spread of the CoronaVirus (COVID-19).”

On Friday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported two more confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.
The second new confirmed case is that of a 62-year-old Filipino man who was diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes mellitus, Duque said.

Article continues after this advertisementThe second patient, a regular visitor at a Muslim prayer hall in Barangay Greenhills in San Juan City, experienced cough and severe pneumonia on Feb. 25. which led him to consult a hospital in the Metro Manila on March 1, according to the DOH.
