Man charged for unlicensed gun in Masbate City

LEGAZPI CITY — A man who was hurt in a road accident was later charged for possession of an unlicensed gun in Masbate City on Saturday morning.

Masbate police said in a report that while driving his motorcycle, Levy Teofil Aguilar, 27, a resident of F. Magallanes, accidentally bumped into a truck parked beside the road in Barangay Kinamaligan at around 4:45 a.m.

While looking for his personal identification, police found a loaded caliber .9mm pistol inside his sling bag.

Aguilar, who was reportedly drunk, suffered from minor injuries in his face and was brought to the Masbate Provincial Hospital.

He was identified as a personal security aide of an employee of a private office in the city.

He is now in stable condition and under the custody of the city police for inquest proceedings.
