Lawmakers bicker over ‘pork barrel’ in budget

/ 05:22 AM March 06, 2020

Ousted House electoral tribunal chair and Oriental Mindoro Rep. Salvador Leachon on Thursday accused Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte of manipulating the 2020 General Appropriations Act to include pork barrel allocations for himself and some favored lawmakers.

In a TV interview, Leachon said he was removed on Monday from his committee after he questioned the P6.2-billion allocation for Villafuerte’s turf, the second district of Camarines Sur.
