MANILA, Philippines — A policeman assigned at Parañaque Police Station tested positive for crystal meth or “shabu” use, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Wednesday.
The NCRPO identified the cop as Police Staff Sergeant Jonel Pandoro Torreblanca, who was among the 129 cops in the station who faced random drug testing.
Torreblanca is so far the eighth policeman in Metro Manila who has tested positive for drug use.

The Southern Police District (SPD) has been instructed to disarm Torreblanca and recall his other government issuance.
He was also ordered relieved and the police will determine his background and drug source.
NCRPO chief Gen. Debold Sinas assured that appropriate administrative charges will be filed against the erring cop and follow-up investigations will be conducted.
“I will not stop to cleanse the NCRPO. I repeat, narco-cops or drug-using cops have no place in NCRPO. I will ensure the relief of police users and those involved in illegal drugs,” he said in a statement.
“This may serve as a stern warning to all policemen in the region. No one can run or hide with the continuing conduct of random drug testing,” Sinas added. #
