Gunman at San Juan mall also carrying grenades, says witness

MANILA, Philippines — The hostage-taker at a shopping mall in Greenhills, San Juan City is carrying guns and grenades, according to a witness to the incident.
“May (He has) guns and grenades. He wants the guards to follow his instructions, or else he will shoot,” the witness said.

The witness added the gunman also wants media to rush to the mall.

Initial reports showed the suspect is also a “disgruntled” security guard. One person was reportedly shot and was being treated at a hospital.
Police officers have been deployed to the area.
