Did You Know: March is National Women’s Month

/ 05:00 AM March 02, 2020

National Women’s Month is observed every March as part of the worldwide observance of International Women’s Day.

The legal bases for the annual national celebration include Proclamation No. 227 signed in 1988 (March as Women’s Role in History Month), Proclamation No. 224 signed in 1988 (Women’s Week every first week of March), Republic Act No. 6949 signed in 1990 (National Women’s Day every March 8) and Proclamation No. 1675 signed in 2008 (March as National Women’s Heart Health Month).

The theme for this year’s celebration is “We Make Change Work for Women.”
