Pump attendant killed in gas station robbery in Cabanatuan

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija, Philippines — A 29-year-old gasoline pump attendant was killed during a robbery here on Saturday evening, police said.

Investigators identified the victim as Bernadeth Mamangon, a resident of Barangay Talipapa.

According to initial reports, Mamangon was on duty when two unidentified men disguised as customers robbed the gasoline station, which is also in Barangay Talipapa, at around 9:30 p.m.

Police said one of the assailants was armed and shot Mamangon before carting away the woman’s sling bag which contained P2,500 in cash.

The assailants then fled aboard a black Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle.

Police said a dragnet operation was launched to arrest the robbers.
