LOOK: Panelo visits wake of Robredo’s mother in Naga

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo visited the wake of Vice President Leni Robredo’s mother Salvacion Gerona in Naga City.

Photos from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) sent to the press Thursday showed Panelo and Robredo talking during the wake.

Panelo earlier said he would visit the wake in lieu of President Rodrigo Duterte who “has a lot of work to do.”

But the President said he had already expressed his condolences to Robredo by sending flowers to the bereaved family.

Gerona, a teacher by profession, passed away last February 22 at the age of 83.
