Cops nab a man selling drugs 2 hours before his wedding

COTABATO CITY, Maguindanao, Philippines  – A man caught selling drugs only two hours before his wedding was arrested by the police, who allowed him to get married to his bride before taking him back into custody.

Mat Unged, 27, a construction foreman and resident of Barangay Rosary Heights 8 here, was arrested in a drug buy-bust at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, only two hours before he would marry his girlfriend at 3 p.m. in a Muslim rite, police said.

Capt. Rustom Pastolero, Cotabato City Police Station 2 chief, said police seized from Unged a sachet of crystal meth (shabu), a motorbike without license plates, and marked money.

Pastolero said Unged had been under surveillance for quite a time for his alleged illegal drug activities.

The drug buy-bust was carried out in Barangay Rosary Heights 8, where Unged lived.

After his arrest, police finished the documentation and inventory of items taken during the buy-bust; then allowed Unged to continue the wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony, the police brought him back to his cell.
