CITY OF MEYCAUAYAN–Public Works Secretary Mark Villar on Friday (Feb. 21) led the opening of the Malabon Exit of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) Harbor Link C3-R10, which will reduce travel time from NLEx to Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela (Camanava) cities to just 10 minutes.
The Malabon Exit along the Dagat-Dagatan Avenue is part of the 2.6-km elevated NLEx Harbor Link C3-R10 section between the new Caloocan Interchange on C3 Road in Caloocan City and Radial Road 10 in Navotas City.
The opening of the Malabon Exit, Villar said, would “provide immediate relief from the daily bumper-to-bumper traffic in the Camanava area.”
He said when the entire C3-R10 Section opens next month, travel time between NLEx and the CAMANAVA area will be reduced from 60 to 10 minutes.
Villar said construction is ongoing 24 hours a day on the remaining 1.4-km stretch of the viaduct to meet target opening in March.
He said Harbor Link is part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s commitment to address and help ease worsening road bottlenecks in Metro Manila.
“We are starting to turn the tide in solving the worst traffic condition in Metro Manila especially along Edsa,” said Villar.
“We have now crossed the threshold,” Villar said.
NLEx Corp. President Jose Luigi Bautista said the company was committed to support the government’s efforts to alleviate traffic congestion in Metro Manila through high impact infrastructure projects.
