401 persons probed for COVID-19 already been discharged — DOH

MANILA, Philippines — The number of patients under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19 who were already discharged from hospitals are now at 401, the latest records from the Department of Health (DOH) showed Wednesday.

As of 12 noon, DOH said 401 PUIs are discharged from their respective hospitals, which means they are now asymptomatic and are negative for the new coronavirus.

Meanwhile, 135 persons monitored for the deadly virus, which originated from mainland China, are still under observation and confined in hospitals.

In mainland China, the COVID-19 illness already infected 74,185 people while 2,004 individuals died due to the virus.

Japan also recorded a total of 542 confirmed cases of the coronavirus on the Diamond Princess cruise ship. There is a total of 3,700 crew and passengers onboard the vessel.
