After arguing with his wife about what she wore to church, a man nearly beat said woman to death in the United States, last Sunday, Feb. 16

Percy Thompson, 34 years old, allegedly punched his wife until she fell unconscious right in front of their children in Nashville, Tennessee. Neighbors called the authorities after witnessing the assault, Fox affiliate WZTV reported yesterday, Feb. 17.

When the police arrived, they found the wife in a car being watched over by her mother. The victim’s whole upper body was covered in blood.

The wife’s mother narrated that Thompson was screaming and cussing in front of everyone due to the dress issue. As per report, the husband left but then came back and forced himself inside their house. He allegedly pushed his wife down the stairs and repeatedly punched her in the face while his kids were present.

Thompson was found a few miles away at an apartment by the police after fleeing the scene.

He is out of jail on bond and has a lengthy criminal history. Aside from the beating this weekend, the report stated that Thompson already had previous domestic violence charges for beating his wife last December. Those charges have been dropped.

Thompson is now facing charges related to criminal homicide, failure to appear and driving with a revoked license, and has been put in jail under a $301,000 (P15.25 million) bond. Cha Lino/JB
