Did You Know: February is Down Syndrome Consciousness Month

February was declared National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 157 signed on Feb. 18, 2002, by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The observation promotes awareness of Down Syndrome to help educate the public about the great potential possessed by children diagnosed with the condition that let them lead normal lives.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
