OFW in Zambales tests negative for COVID-19 on initial test

IBA, Zambales –– A local health official on Friday said the 50-year-old woman being monitored for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) here has tested negative for the virus based on her initial laboratory.

But Dr. Noel Bueno, director of the Provincial Health Office, said they would have to wait for another three days for the result of the confirmatory test.

The woman, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Hong Kong, arrived in the country on January 28, and exhibited symptoms of the disease and was taken to a hospital here for monitoring. She is the second PUI case in the province.

The first PUI case in Zambales had been discharged from the hospital early this week after testing negative for the disease on the initial and confirmatory tests./lzb
