LUCENA CITY –– At least six suspected drug pushers were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations in this city and the towns of Pagbilao and Tiaong in Quezon province on Wednesday and Thursday.
Suspects Andrew Gajol, 30, and Jeff Paglicawan, 20, were arrested after they sold “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust in Barangay Cotta around 7 a.m. Thursday, Lt. Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said in a report.
Seized were five plastic sachets of shabu weighing a total of 6.5 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P12,136. The confiscated shabu is worth P36,075 in the street market at the prevailing price of P5,550 a gram.
Earlier, policemen also nabbed security guard Melchor Etchon, 35, in another sting operation in Barangay Ibabang Dupay in this city at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday.
The suspect yielded three sachets of shabu with a total weight of 10.30 grams worth P57,165.
Meanwhile, Quezon police reported the arrest of Michael Racelis, 39, in a buy-bust operation in Pagbilao town around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Police also said Reymark Mahiya, 20, and Herbie Reyes, 50, were both collared in separate operations in Tiaong town on Wednesday midnight and 3 a.m. Thursday respectively.
Racelis, Mahiya, and Reyes yielded less than one gram each of shabu.
