Tricycle driver in Zambales shot dead while waiting for passenger

CASTILLEJOS, Zambales — A tricycle driver here was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen on Monday, police said.

In a belated report, investigators on Wednesday said Romeo Dela Peña, 46, was standing at the tricycle terminal waiting for a passenger, when the assailants called his name before repeatedly firing shots at him.

Dela Peña was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the attack./lzb
