Did You Know: 1,228 new HIV cases recorded in PH in August 2019

In August 2019, there were 1,228 new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases recorded nationwide, according to the Department of Health.

The figure was 17 percent higher compared to the 1,047 cases recorded in the same month in 2018.

Of the new HIV cases in August 2019, 70 deaths were reported.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
