Drug suspect killed in Manila buy-bust

A 22-year-old man was killed in an armed encounter with members of the Manila Police District (MPD) early on Friday.

According to the MPD, Station 9 Drug Enforcement Unit set up an entrapment operation against suspected drug peddler “Nor,” who was later identified as Leonardo “Nor” Ybañez Uy.

Authorities were able to identify Uy, a Malate resident, through his previous criminal records.

The suspect and the poseur buyer met at the corner of Don Pedro and Arellano Streets in Barangay 762, Zone 82, Malate, around 2 a.m.
