MANILA, Philippines — A retired police officer who is allegedly maintaining a “video karera,” (horse-racing video game) operation was arrested for bribing an official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) Thursday afternoon inside Camp Crame.

Police said retired Police Executive Master Sergeant Brigido Capio-An, offered a P10,000 bribe to the team leader of the PNP-IMEG at Camp Crame at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Capio-An got information that the IMEG which has been tasked to go assist in the PNP’s anti-illegal gambling drive, was scheduled to bust his “video karera” operation in Quezon City.

According to PNP-IMEG spokesperson PCapt. Mae Ann Cunanan, Capio-An then managed to get the contact number of the leader of the raiding team and asked that they meet at a cafe inside Camp Crame.

According to Cunanan, the suspect offered the team leader the bribe money so that his “video karera” operation will not be busted.

Police said Capio-An was immediately arrested after offering the bribe money.

Capio-An is now under the custody of the PNP-IMEG and is facing charges for violation of Article 212 of the Revised Penal Code or Corruption of Public Official.
