Woman from Eastern Visayas negative for nCoV, released from hospital

TACLOBAN CITY –– The 30-year old woman from Eastern Visayas, who was earlier suspected to carry the 2019 novel coronavirus (nCov), was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

“She was found to be negative of the 2019-nCov. She was cleared (from the virus) and was released at 5 p.m. on Wednesday,” said John Paul Roca, regional health information officer.

The woman was the second patient to be cleared of the virus. The first was a 36-year-old American national, who was released on Feb. 1.

The woman traveled to Macau and Hong Kong, where there are confirmed nCov cases.

She was confined at the hospital for five days.

The region has five remaining persons under investigation, including a 26-year-old woman, her 7-month-old son, her sister-in-law, a 55-year-old man, and a 22-year-old woman.
