MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday reminded foreigners in the country to follow the law of the land.
In a Palace briefing, presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo warned foreigners that incidents of misbehavior are being investigated by authorities and those who will be proven to have violated Philippine laws will be charged.
“Our policy’s very clear: The laws, immigration laws, are to be enforced as well as all laws relative to the stay of any foreign national in this country,” Panelo said.
The Palace official issued the statement as Chinese nationals continue to land the news in the country due to incidents of bad behavior.
The Manila City government has ordered a manhunt against a Chinese-looking foreigner whose photo went viral for supposedly defecating at the Baluarte de Dilao in Intramuros, Manila.
Meanwhile, three Chinese men were earlier photographed urinating along Ayala Avenue in Makati.
