MMDA to motorists: Take alternate routes with repairs on 5 Metro roads

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is advising motorists to find alternate routes on Jan. 29 (Wednesday) and Jan. 31 (Friday) as five roads in Metro Manila will undergo repairs and reblocking.

In a statement, the MMDA said the Circumferential Road 5 (C5)–Ortigas Avenue Interchange will be affected as major repairs of the C5 Ortigas Flyover will be made during weekdays from Jan. 31 to July 28, 2020. The repairs will be done from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., the MMDA said.

The MMDA added that Oroquieta Street in Sta. Cruz, to Sampaloc, Manila will also be affected due to rehabilitation of the street and its drainage which will be done on all Fridays from Jan. 31, 2020 to Oct. 26 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Concrete pouring and the delivery of materials will be done on Edsa northbound near the corner of Taft Avenue in Pasay City from Jan. 29 to Feb. 4 at 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., the MMDA said.

A steel safety canopy along Edsa southbound in front of the AMA Tower Residences building in Mandaluyong City will also be dismantled from Jan. 29 to Feb. 4 starting at 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

MMDA also noted that road reblocking will be done along Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard and Ramon Magsaysay Service Road on all Fridays from Jan. 29 to June 26 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
