PUERTO PRINCESA CITY –– The initial result for the novel coronavirus (nCoV) turned negative for the 10-year-old Brazilian girl isolated at a Palawan hospital.

Dr. Mario S. Baquilod, director of the Department of Health in Mimaropa, said on Wednesday morning, that they were waiting for the result of the second confirmatory test before they could release a discharge order.

“One out of the two confirmatory tests showed a good result, negative so far. We are just waiting for the second result before we can discharge her,” Baquilod said.

The foreign family, who were on vacation in El Nido town, was isolated in a Palawan hospital on Friday, after showing flu-like symptoms, which were initially related to nCoV.
