‘Shabu’ worth P300k seized from slain suspect in Cavite
SAN PEDRO CITY –– A suspected drug pusher was killed in a police buy-bust operation in Imus City, Cavite, authorities said Wednesday.
Cavite police chief Col. Marlon Santos, in a text message, named the slain suspect as Roberto Fernandez, a resident of Antipolo City, Rizal.
Santos said Fernandez was in Cavite to meet with undercover policemen in Barangay Alapan 1C for the supposed drug deal around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Fernandez had just handed over one sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in exchange for P1,000 when he reportedly realized it was a sting operation.
Police said the suspect drew and fired a .45 caliber gun, forcing authorities to return fire. The suspect died instantly.
During the investigation, police recovered five more sachets or about 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P300,000, Santos said.
