MANILA, Philippines — Three suspects, including a police officer, were arrested on Friday in an entrapment operation in Quezon City after reportedly stealing a motorcycle parked at a supermarket, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Saturday.

In a report, QCPD director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo identified the suspects as Allan Hermosa, 37, Carlito Felicitas, 32, and Police Corporal Michael Dela Cruz, 27, who is assigned at the Novaliches Police Station in Quezon City.

The arrests came after the victim sought assistance from the Novaliches police station about the theft of his motorcycle which was stolen at the parking area of a grocery store along Barangay Nova Proper in April 2019.

The victim told police that he later discovered parts from his stolen motorcycle being sold by Hermosa online using a social media site.

Police then launched an entrapment operation against Felicitas and Hermosa at a restaurant along Quirino Highway at Barangay Greater Lagro at 9 a.m.

The two suspects were arrested after handing the parts from the stolen motorcycle to the victim, who posed as the buyer in the operation.

Seized from the suspects were motorcycle parts, which the victim has confirmed as coming from his stolen blue Suzuki Shogun bike.

Hermosa and Felicitas were then brought to Novaliches police station where they identified Dela Cruz as the one who allegedly ordered them to sell the motorcycle parts online.

Dela Cruz was brought to the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit for investigation and the filing of administrative charges.

Police said the arrested suspects will also be facing charges for car theft and violation of the Anti-Fencing Law before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
