MRT-3 dispels post on suicide bomber in Cubao train station

MANILA, Philippines — The management of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) dispelled a post showing that a suicide bomber was arrested at the train’s Cubao Station, noting that it was only a mock test organized by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“Nothing to worry about. That was only a penetration test conducted by the PNP yesterday, 21 January 2020, 2:20PM at the MRT-3 Cubao Station,” read the statement.

The MRT-3 management said the “penetration test” is being conducted to check alertness and security management in an area.

The management reminded the people to verify sources of information so that they would not be victimized by “fake news” posted online.

“Ugaliing mag-verify kung saan o ano ang pinanggalingan ng impormasyon – – kung ito ba ay mula sa isang lehitimong source, (Make it a habit to verify sources of information to determine if the source is legitimate source),” the management said.
