MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has confirmed that the bodies found inside a car that was set on fire in Quezon province two weeks ago belonged to former Batangas Rep. Edgar Mendoza and his two companions.
In an interview with reporters, Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said results from PNP Crime Laboratory validated the police’s initial investigation which stated that Mendoza, his driver, Ruel Ruiz and his bodyguard Nicanor Mendoza died inside a burning car parked along San Francisco Bridge in Barangay San Francisco in Tiaong last Jan. 9.
“Ang tatlong sunog na bangkay pinaniniwalaan sa imbestigasyon ay si dating batangas Rep. Edgar Mendoza, bodyguard Nicanor Mendoza at driver Ruel Ruiz,” said Banac.
