MANILA, Philippines – Most parts of the Philippines will have cloudy skies on Sunday evening until Monday morning, according to the Sunday afternoon forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa said the tail-end of a cold front would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the eastern sections of southern Luzon and Visayas, which could cause flash floods or landslides.

Affected areas include the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas and the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz.

The Cordillera region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Calabarzon, and Metro Manila will also have mostly cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon or amihan, which could cause intermittent strong winds, especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

The Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will have cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan, or the northeast monsoon.

In Western and Central Visayas, Palawan, and Mindanao, localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains in the evening that could cause flash floods or landslides. However, expect fair to warm and humid weather on Monday.

Meanwhile, strong to near gale-force winds are expected along the eastern seaboard of Luzon and Visayas, which means that small fishing vessels are not allowed to sail due to waves that could reach four meters high.
