As of 5 a.m. Friday, the Batangas PDRRMO said the Taal eruption has affected 32,231 families or 144,272 individuals.

A total of 436 evacuation centers have been set-up for displaced families, the Batangas PDRRMO added.

The number of displaced families has increased from Thursday’s record of over 26,000 families, according to data previously provided by the PDRRMO.

Taal Volcano’s phreatic eruption last Sunday later prompted the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) to raise Alert Level 4, meaning a hazardous eruption is expected within hours to days.
