MANILA, Philippines — Another magnitude 4.1 earthquake of volcanic origin struck Batangas province on Monday morning.
The earthquake’s epicenter was traced six kilometers northwest of Agoncillo town at 6:35 a.m. and had a depth of focus of eight kilometers, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
It was felt at Instrumental Intensity III in Tagaytay City.
No aftershocks are expected from this tremor.
This was the latest earthquake to rock Batangas province after the magnitude 4.1 earthquake at 3:11 a.m and magnitude 4.0 at 3:24 a.m. on Monday, and magnitude 4.1 quake at 11:56 p.m. on Sunday all recorded in Agoncillo town.
Phivolcs has recorded a total of 75 volcanic earthquakes in the Taal Volcano area as of 5a.m. Monday.
Thirty-two of these quakes were felt with intensities ranging from Intensity II – V in Tagaytay City, Cabuyao, Laguna, Talisay, Alitagtag, Lemery and Bauan, Batangas.
