Pagasa issues thunderstorm advisory for Batangas, Cavite
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued on Sunday afternoon a thunderstorm advisory for Cavite and Batangas.
This came after the Taal volcano spewed ash in a phreatic eruption around 1 p.m.
According to the 3:25 p.m. advisory, moderate rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Tagaytay, Cavite and Talisay and Taal in Batangas.
The situation may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.
Residents of the affected areas are advised to monitor the latest weather updates and take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.
In its public weather forecast this morning, Pagasa said amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over parts of Luzon.
