NBI to help probe slay of ex-Batangas lawmaker, 2 others

MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Thursday said he has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to help the police in investigating the brutal killing of three persons in Quezon, including former Batangas lawmaker Edgar Mendoza.

Guevarra also said NBI will likewise aid the police in identifying the perpetrators of the “horrible crime.”

“The NBI’s forensic experts will also be of great help in identifying the victims,” Guevarra noted.

Bodies of three persons, one allegedly of Mendoza, was found inside a charred car in Tiaong town in Quezon province early Thursday.
