Did You Know: 64.2% of Filipino employees are salary workers

According to the October 2019 Labor Force Survey recently published by the Philippine Statistics Authority, 64.2 percent of Filipino workers were wage and salary workers, 27 percent were self-employed without any paid employee, 5.9 percent were unpaid family workers while 2.9 percent were employed in a farm or business owned by their family.

The top three sectors that employed workers were services (57.7 percent), agriculture (23.5 percent), and industry (18.9 percent).—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
