Two million pesos worth of cash and expensive materials were stolen from a house in Quezon City which was left unattended for one night, according to a police report.
Records at the Quezon City Police District showed robbers broke
into one of the houses at Wisdom St., Carmel 1 Subdivision, Barangay Bahay Toro, while its occupants were away from Friday evening until Saturday morning.
P03 Loreto Tigno said the robbers barged into the unattended house owned by Dr. Maria Fe Pizarro, 56, of the medical division of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Pizarro’s husband, Alfred Jarencio, told police that burglars were able to take some P200,000 in cash; five wrist watches worth P500,000; seven Louis Vuitton bags valued at P800,000; a Sony video camera worth P60,000; and passports, important documents and other valuables.
Jarencio said he discovered the burglary upon returning home at around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
He said that no one was in the house because his wife is on a vacation in the United States.
In his statement, he narrated that he left their house on Friday afternoon to go to his farm in Antipolo for a Christmas party and returned home the following day.
When he arrived, he immediately noticed the front door was forced open and the living room and master bedroom were in complete disarray.
Investigators said a witness told police he saw two unidentified men came out of the house and boarded a black Nissan car with plate number RGT-464 early morning on Saturday.
The witness further shared he saw one of the suspects jumped out from the front gate of the house and boarded a car parked in front of the house.
