BAGUIO CITY –– The taxi driver, who attempted to run over a patrolman on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31), was charged for attempted homicide, drunk driving, direct assault upon a person in authority, disobeying a person in authority, and oral defamation on Monday (Jan. 6), said Police Col. Allen Rae Co, Baguio police director.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board is also investigating driver Jone Dominguez Buclay and the operator of the vehicle for a video clip showing the taxi cab drive up Abanao Street with Patrolman Julius Walang clinging to the hood.
Walang blocked Buclay’s taxi because of a traffic infraction during the Dec. 31 holiday rush, the complaint says. But cab driver accelerated up the street. The road leads up to the BCPO and City Hall.
A civil case is also being prepared against the taxicab’s owner.
